We are keen to speak to candidates who have extensive experience within the homeless sector in a frontline advice setting and who have the ability to take the lead in making decisions around the type and level of support being provided to clients as required. The role involves working in a small multi-skilled team to support over 400 clients each year. Services offered by the organisation include but are not limited to: support around enquiries and applications for housing (emergency through to permanent) or rehousing, in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, travel arrangements, establishing proof of identity, advice and information on welfare benefits, health services and employment opportunities. 			<description><![CDATA[ Advice Centre is a charitable limited company, which is linked with Stevenage Citizens Advice Bureau. The telephone advice centre was set up in 2001 to provide legal advice to the public by telephone. The service is funded by a contract with the Legal Services Commission as part of Community Legal Advice (CLA). The centre currently has some 60 staff and growth is expected to continue. The centre has an excellent reputation for services of the highest quality and for meeting customer service targets. The Housing Supervisor role is to supervise and support the team of Housing Caseworkers, ensuring the service meets its contractual and quality commitments. We are recruiting people to be part of our rapidly growing telephone advice team providing top quality advice and subsequent casework. Key Role Responsibilities 1. Monitor and ensure delivery of quality advice to LSC and SSTAC service standards by team and yourself. Take appropriate remedial action where required 2. Implement SSTAC policies and procedures, defining team specific policies and procedures in line with these where required. 3. Ensure reporting staff are supervised and managed, and that issues are dealt with, taking required action. 4. Identify recruitment and training needs, actively support the recruitment, training and induction processes of operational staff and of the Housing team specific requirements. 5. Input into operational business plan and ensure delivery of Housing business plan. 6. Maintain day-to-day financial control in your team to ensure agreed budgets are not exceeded. 7. Identify development opportunities, consistent with the aims of the organisation and the operating environment, which may lead to further contract work. Assist in developing the contract base to secure present and future service delivery 8. Contribute to the management of the LSC as a customer, meeting the requirements of the contract and any agreed initiatives 9. Actively work to ensure effective team relationships (SSTAC Management, Operations, inter-team) and optimal operational efficiency in your area of law and with other SSTAC teams 10. Work with the SSTAC Management Team to make optimum use of IT and technology, to manage the effective use of time and resources, generate performance reports and optimise operational efficiency 11. Adhere to the specified social policies 12. Produce regular reports on Operational Performance for the Operations Manager, SSTAC Manager, SSTAC Director and the Board 13.
