Key responsibilities are to assist in the organisation of a variety of events and provide administrative and financial support to the office. Tasks include: - Delivery of events plan to timescale - Logistical work including researching and booking venues, liaising with suppliers, organising volunteers - Marketing and promotions of events and projects - Take and respond to telephone and email enquiries / requests - Provide administrative backup for the office including dealing with all written correspondence, data entry and financial management as of January 2009 You could be focusing on anything from marketing to logistics - no two days will be the same! Preferably of degree calibre, you will need strong IT skills including setting up Excel spreadsheets, writing letters on Word, maintaining databases, using Sage finance systems and managing a busy Outlook system. Your communication skills will also need to be excellent, as you will be dealing with a wide range of people, sometimes in pressured situations. Time management needs to be key as you will be multi tasking from the start. Experience of organising previous events co-ordination or marketing would be of benefit as would managing financial systems. An interest in or commitment to social inclusion issues would also be of benefit. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable work experience in a busy charity.
