You can make a difference by volunteering with ICYE Volunteering Abroad. We are able to arrange a work placement for you in a number of countries throughout latin America, Africa and Asia. Projects vary from working with street children, to protecting indigenous peoples rights, to education local communities about the environment and many more.  Departures for August 2009 and January 2010. 
You will receive full pre-departure training, on-arrival training and language lessons as part of your programme fee. This fee will also include return flights, accommodation, food, living allowance, insurance and visas. ICYE Volunteering Abroad will help with the fundraising involved to cover the cost of the placement.

			<description><![CDATA[ meeting in London 8th of NovemberThe program is for you, who have a strong desire to do a difference, who want to work as part of a international team of volunteers, who want to change small things in life. Who also have the surplus to work with youngster, who grow up with lack of care and possibilities. The Development Instructor programme is a unique chance for people from the rich part of the world to dedicate 14 months of their life to a practical contribution to the fight against poverty and diseases in the most unfortunate areas of the world. Development Instructors are all sorts of people  from all countries on earth, young and not so young, from all walks of life, experienced and inexperienced  and still, they have a lot in common. They all have big hearts and a willingness to do something about the most basic contradiction in todays world: the extreme poverty in which far too many people live Anyone can become a Development Instructor as long as you are prepared to commit yourself to the programme and the framework around it. The DI/DNYS programme covers 14 months, based in Denmark and Africa. 6 months preparation in Denmark, study and working with disadvantaged teenagers 6 months creating sustainable development in sub-Saharan Africa. A 2 months evaluation period, back in Europe completes your experience. The program is designed in this way, that you can work during your training at a school centre for students with special needs and in this way get very useful experiences and obtain a scholarship to pay for the program and accommodation cost. The preparation take place at 6 schools which facilitate your preparation for Africa. This consists of studying and working - in some situations living in care homes  which act as placements for your development, whilst providing safe haven and personal development opportunities for disadvantaged youngsters. No specific qualifications are required - but it is a must that you are open minded and flexible- and that you want to work with children and young people from many different backgrounds. On this programme you have the opportunity to make your own contribution within a selection of projects. The Projects in Africa are: Child Aid; a program that focuses on the well being of children by addressing the difficulties in the communities and environment HOPE or TCE (Total Control of the Epidemic) programs with the aim of stopping the spread of HIV &amp; AIDS and dealing with the consequences that exist Teacher Training Colleges where there is a focus to educate teachers for rural areas Vocational schools for young people to learn basic skills for their future Schools for street children Sanitation and hygiene in rural areas Raising funds for the social projects by forming partnerships and selling second hand clothes and shoes. Working with and educating farmers in Farmers clubs To participate in this program, you need to be from a EU country or from Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. You need to pay 430 £ in enrolment fee and pay your own pocket money and travel cost to Denmark and your vaccinations for going to Africa. In 2009 there will be teams starting 1st of February, 1st of May, 1st of August &amp; 1st of November.
