			<description><![CDATA[ confident mature multi-tasking administrator with experience within a finance dept. along with the ability to manage activity over a number of different strands, to join them as an Assistant Bursar for one of their international central London Halls of Residence *** Acting within a team of 4 Assistant Bursars (all of whom report to the Bursar), it is essential that you be an active team player in order to dovetail all of your efforts into delivering an impeccable service to the student tenants, conference clients etc. and maximising occupancy throughout the year. Your role will also involve the running of the front office, maintaining accurate and effective records and dealing professionally with all enquiries from students and would be visitors etc. This is a meaty role requiring great eye for detail and the ability to keep lots of plates spinning at the same time! The hall itself is modern and has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme and includes 414 single study rooms, 229 post-graduate or mature undergraduate students 1 and 2 bed flats. Facilities include a modern restaurant, a cafe-bar, TV and video rooms, squash courts, recreation hall, and music and computer rooms. Aspects of the role include: 1) Hall Administration and Conference duties - to include maximising occupancy via allocation fo student and guest rooms, conferencing facilities etc. Also includes processing of all student applications; processing room allocations; checking rooms for damage, prohibited items etc, unregistered guests etc. for return of deposits; supervising preparing of rooms for summer visitors; liaising with conference leaders and individual clients; booking of conferences and liasing with caterers etc. ;daily meet and greet of clients etc. ; organising student use of facilities including squash court, DVD room etc. 2) Financial Administration and related duties - to include being responsible for processing student bills and maintaining all records; collecting and processing all income to the Hall incl BACS payments, Credit Card transactions, banking twice weekly; procurement ledger, processing and rec. s of petty cash accounts; ordering supplies and processing invoices; invoicing day and residential conferences etc. 3) Contract and Facilities Admin - prepare daily work schedules for housekeepers; supervise laundry supply contract; supervise the cleaning and maintenance contracts, inspect and report; ensuring maintenance of the fabric of the building. 4) Other general duties consistent with the post.
