Knowledge and experience in manufacturingusing composites is essential. The roles will involve:Investigatingpotential manufacturing processes for new components / assemblies and for modifications to existing components / assemblies. Define and optimise the manufacturing process for each component / assembly, based on the correct balance of cost, quality, lead time, manufacturability, safety and performance. Produce item masters, routes, production bills of materials, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, COSs and PD drawings for components / assemblies. Produce NC / CMM programmes for the in-house manufacturing of components / assemblies. Produce cost estimates / standard times for the manufacturing of components / assemblies. Develop and implement the product inspection elements of Quality Plans. Prove the capability of the manufacturing process for each component / assembly using the DVI process and to maintain the DVI file for any subsequent changes. Support the selection of plant and equipment and the preparation of factory layouts. Provide structured problem solving (8D) support to manufacturing areas and to resolve any identified manufacturing process issues. Support the dispositioning of manufacturing non conformances and the definition of any associated repair solutions. Complete manufacturing process related Corrective Actions resulting from manufacturing non conformances. Work rigorously tothe group procedures..

			<description><![CDATA[ company producing honeycomb sandwich panels for applications to the automotive, rail, aerospace and marine industries and they looking to recruit looking to recruit a recent graduate in mechanical engineering to work closely with clients to manage the account and new enquiries. A permanent opportunity exists for an entry-level member to start in the Contracts office. Under the guidance of the Contracts Office Manager the role will consist of preparing responses and quotations to enquiries generated from various internal and external sales and marketing routes together with servicing and growing nominated key accounts. You will be keen to create suitable solutions in a timely manner to meet those customer&rsquo;s needs. They will need to communicate effectively at a technical level with the customer and following up to help maximise the probability of securing the order. You will need to be capable of providing a support role to manufacturing to ensure that those requirements are implemented in the most suitable and effective way. In some cases project managing the contract through the system. The role also requires an ability to interface technically both internally and externally at all levels, including the ability to create drawings in both 2D and 3D formats. Useful Subject knowledge: Principles of sandwich panel design, basic composites, adhesives and cores. Also basic manufacturing techniques likely to be encountered in pressing, cold bonding and vacuum bag curing operations. Experience: Though some shop floor appreciation time will be given industrial experience of at least a year in a manufacturing company (small batch fabrication) is likely to be useful. Academic level: HND minimum preferred graduate. Ability to interact confidently with professionally trained customers. Applied mechanics, 2D &amp; 3D cad packages preferable Solid works also AutoCAD or BricksCAD. CNC cutter programming software such as AlphaCam. Some project management and time management skills but not to Prince II standard. Occupational training: Will be market driven useful skills to include SPC. Lean &amp; Agile manufacturing principles. Great if they can bring a skill of their own to the company to consolidate their credibility and enhance the company&rsquo;s capability. Additional understanding / experience of dealing with large (Blue chip) and small organization; Mechanically biased &amp; capable of creative elegant technical solutions; Demonstrates out of box thinking; Drafting 2D &amp; 3D skills. Generally the graphics work is industrial &amp; technical [SolidWorks] rather than artistic; Computer literate using standard common MS office packages.
