The role will involve overseas travel and working closely with Operations, Corporate Sourcing, Project Managers and Steel and Aluminium mills in new material development and approval. Detailed Responsibilities:  Technical Leadership of Tinplate &amp; Aluminium approvals, developments and failure investigations.  Strategic role to identify opportunities with suppliers for new developments and implement these with the relevant business.  Manage Joint developments with suppliers.  Expert support for Failure Investigation of Materials andproducts as technical support to Companys businesses.  Recommend &amp; Approve materials for new developments.  Maintain Technical Specifications with Suppliers.  Represent Company on relevant Industry bodies. Profile  Experienced Metallurgist /Materials Scientist or Materials Engineer  With 5 years Experience in the Metal Packaging, Steel or Aluminium Industry.  Proven Technical Leadership  Good Communicator with ability to write clear reports and present to customers suppliers and business managers.  The post requires close cooperation with Company's Purchasing Group, the Companys business sectors and other teams within Corporate Technologies to manage the approval of new materials This will include component production trials in factories and material testing in Oxfordshire The role will require overseas travel, primarily within Europe with the possibility of Travel to North America &amp; Asia when needed..
