The Head of Purchasing is responsible for the strategic leadership, management and development of the Purchasing and Packaging team. Overseeing the purchasing of food chemicals, ingredients, packaging, contract manufacture and bought-in products. Promoting best practice through collaborative, strategic procurement using the approved Category Management process. Ensuring the delivery of an evolving, long term strategy, in line with business requirements. Key Accountabilities:  Manage and develop a team of five procurement professionals and a packaging technologist to ensure that all objectives are met within the required timescales.  Oversee the creation and delivery of the procurement strategy for the; packaging, food chemicals and ingredients, contract pack and manufacture and bought-in products categories.  To set achievable and realistic materials budgets on an annual basis and provide quarterly re-forecasts to the finance team. Provide purchasing support to the business for all NPD and ensure adherence to the approved project management process (PMP).
